José Ortega is a lawyer and at the same time an archaeologist who has worked extensively in cultural anthropology, history of religions, mythology and folklore.
He is the author of nine novels in Spanish, most of them set in historical and mythological contexts, and a treatise on symbolism and prehistoric rituals.
He has also dedicated himself to film, radio and television. He is a producer of three fiction films directed by Juan Piquer (a filmmaker well known in the United States for several films with Dino de Laurentis). He has also directed and produced three documentary series for television on prehistory, archeology and anthropology, and a fiction short film.
As a lawyer he is known throughout Europe for his work in relation to the  coastal law. In 2009 he got the European Parliament to approve a resolution against that law and demand its reform. This reform actually took place in 2013.
For these reasons José Ortega has appeared and been interviewed by media throughout Europe.
